Guess I could just start combing Craigslist or whatever but that’s usually always garbage and spam. I’m getting (been) a little tired of Indiana after almost 6 years and wouldn’t mind a valid reason to leave at some point anyway.

Say you had a 2015 T680 3-axle that was compliant in all the usual modern ways (it’s an old Millis Transfer unit actually). Not the newest or shiniest thing on the road but still does the job.

Open minded about what type of work or trailer…dry van, reefer, open deck. Don’t have my own plate or authority, just a truck to lease on somewhere. I spend a lot of time running back and forth on 94 between Indiana and WI, MN, occasionally ND and MT. Wisconsin would be an upgrade IMO. Just looking for some ideas.

Whenever I suggest intermodal, all the alarms go off, but I leased my tractor to a Bay Motor Transport, Green Bay, in the 90s, I think still in business, or several of the "other" intermodal companies that were offshoots of BMT. Usually Ft.Howard to Chicago, and all freight north or Midwest. They weren't too particular about age, as long as it passes inspection. With companies failing daily, intermodal is having record numbers, and it's the next thing, like it or not. Otherwise, getting to be slim pickens for an O/O, in fact, aside from intermodal, I'm not sure who is looking for O/Os. And it's not all white Volvos either, we had some nice trucks too. I didn't make a ton of money, but didn't put on a lot of miles and was home all weekend and during the week.

TraLo out of Owatonna MN. They do a ton for Seneca Foods around Wisco. They also run flats and conestogas. I made good money there, I left because it got hard to get home to Nebraska when the spot market tanked. They didn’t have freight around me so that was how I got to and from the house.

Those Chicago rail guys are always advertising. Plenty of work there. No interest in home every day and weekend type work though. I’m more of a “gone every weekend and home when I feel like it” type of guy.

That’s one good thing about dealing with a local’ish company that runs their trucks “out and back” or on a set route. Getting home is never a problem. I’ll take a look at them.

A few good ones and quite a few bad ones around here. All depends on what you want to do.
