They're ready to fly me to El Paso, but if I don't go tomorrow he said I can't get hired because it will be 30 days since I've taken the drug test. He did a rtd instead of a Pre-employment. I had already done one with another company. He's starting me out with 53cpm, but kms is starting me at 60cpm and I supposed to take a drug test for them tomorrow and fly to Chicago Monday. There's a lady that just started with LGA trucking and she says she likes it. I just wanted some info on kms before I decided.

I'd take LGA Express. I've seen their trucks around and they look the part. Don't get stuck on the 60 cpm. It may be a 1099 job. I'd go ahead and fly to El Paso if it were me.

I'd say it's a toss up, either dealing with chicago scum or going to LGA, which has horrible reviews...

Those reviews are pretty bad....but the reality is, he will have to do whatever it takes to get to a better company. Either way, it's a means to an end. I believe if he can keep his head down and run the miles, he will get to where he wants to. In the mean time, he will need to flip a coin and hit the road.

LGA wants to fly me out today. The owner said that if I don't go, he won't hire me because it's almost been 30 days since I've taken the drug test. If I wait after that I can't go. He had me to do a return to duty test last month when I didn't have to because I'd already taken one for tribe transportation in November.

Well, first your SS/FICA will be double because you pay your own taxes.

Second, you get NO benefits at all. No vacation, no insurance, nothing.

Third WHEN they decide to screw YOU, YOU have to finish "proof" of what they owe you, so expect them to NEVER put anything in writing as far as how much a load pays ect.

Very few (in my experience) 1099 companies worth a ####.

Have you tried looking into some LTL companies in your area? A lot of them are more desperate for drivers than most people realize.
