Is it a red flag when companies don't return your phone call or email, or should you just keep bugging them?
I made a list of companies I was interested in and a few of them have not gotten back, and it's been weeks. Left at least one voicemail and an email message and a few have not responded, and they all say they are hiring.
And then there is one company I spoke with a recruiter but she couldn't answer my questions and directed my to the local manager, but it's been a week with no respo0nse and she sounded very excited that I was interested in the company.
Should I keep trying with these places that don't respond or pass up on them?

My fuel-hauling employer waited for 3 MONTHS (to the day)....to call me back -- after I submitted a complete on-line application.
And this was back when the CDL job market was decent.
Recruiter phone traffic & follow-up depends on so many factors...including, but not limited to:
- supply vs demand for drivers
- what job-related experience your application offers (or doesn't) -- vs your competition
- your driving record
- your job history
- your criminal history (if any)
- what CDL endorsements you have (if any)
- and still other factors....

Andrus recruiting is really good at initiating contact and never following through. They have emailed me directly 3 times now, from my Tenstreet info I assume, with the same canned email. All of my responding emails and phone calls have gone unanswered. I guess they just like bragging to me about having open trucks.

Trucking co's will say "now hiring" right ? You wouldn't expect them to say "not hiring" . I found out years ago co's will place hiring ads to get a feel for what's going on in the industry. Place an ad, and see how many people respond. Lots of responses means other co's don't need any new help. And then some co's will make a list of probable new hires to keep on file. If you are one of 300 applicants, do you think your app will maybe get lost in the shuffle ?
gentleroger, lual and PacoTaco Thank this. -
Well I don't have time to wait around as I'm wanting to start work in the next month or so. I guess I'll stick with the one company that does keep in constant communication with me.
Jedi Knight Thanks this.
