Best of luck partner. Sweet Express is another second chance company. Don’t know much else about them. Western Express is a stepping stone company in my eyes. Every driver I’ve talked to here basically says the exact same thing. And yes the pay might as well be zero for the first few months, but for me they made it easy to get started.

Don't avoid Western. The flatbed side is ok to get you started. If Western will take you, go for it. Where they're valuable, is that they're a reputable company that future employers will take is viable experience. I did my first year there. I don't think you need to disclose that unless necessary. You gotta do what is necessary to get in the door. Giving too much information will paint you in a negative light before they get to know you. How long are you on probation?

Western Express has rejected applications that are far less serious than this RSO applicant.

I've noticed that too on here. Even they're getting more picky. By the time the freight recession is over, Western Express may have totally changed their reputation altogether. I still think the OP should give it a try. The rejection is the worst that can happen.

8 years ago it was simply called "prostitution" or "pimping." Today it's called "Human trafficking" since you're still on probation for it. Finding work will be tough. Also, it was a Federal conviction, and trucking is a highly Federally regulated industry.

The issue with this is, Probation is a form of supervision that allows individuals to remain in the community under certain conditions instead of serving time in prison. It is still part of the sentence imposed by the court. Therefore, although his charge is 8 years old, the sentence is not.

The fact that your conviction included interstate commerce is going to be a big problem for many carriers and many insurance companies.

Another thing that might make them leary is the fact that you are still on probation, which may include travel restrictions, or they may require you to be home on short notice to meet with your PO.

If either of those last two things are a factor that he may have to look for local or regional work.
