You'd have to folt the bill anyway, even if you could claim it.

Company drivers DID, in most cases, take an unintended sock in the nose with the lost ability to itemize expenses, especially single folk.
If your company offers per diem it can help offset that tax liability.
Lots of threads debating that issue.
As long as @tucker is getting financially punished by the IRS like the rest of us I'm good with it for a bit.
Hopefully they'll reinstate our ability to claim those deductions as a choice vs the increased standard deduction. -
I went local at that same time so I basically broke even on my taxes.
So while OTR drivers are spending money eating out or eating soup out of a can Me and Mitt are safely at home every night cooking our own meals.

Aren't the tax laws that took away the daily meal allowances and such for company drivers supposed to revert back to what they were 8 years from when it was put into law?
