The new tax plan has really screwed company drivers...no.more per diem deduction for.each day you are not home.. if your owner op or lease you are still good. If your company get ready to pay or get nothing back...

Getting per diem through your company, is not the same as taking it as a deduction on your taxes.

Oh yeh? Show me the line you filed it on your taxes.

Your company gives you the per diem. You don’t/can’t file for it. You pay an admin fee for that privilege.

If they don’t give it to you. You don’t get it. End of story.

    Unless you’re 1099

My company doesn't rip me off with an admin fee for something the computer does automatically. I don't have do do anything on my taxes because they're my accountant on the per diem. That's about it. No change in the amount, and the accounting department makes sure I don't need to worry if I get audited.

Time for all the OTR drivers to quit their jobs and start working locally.

Psst, pro tip. It doesn’t say “admin fee”.

Unless it’s your company, you’re paying for it. Even if it’s your company, you’re paying for it.

Did they also tell you it would increase your SS at retirement? lololol

Exactly zero has changed aside from disallowing individuals from claiming it. The impetus has moved from driver to company. That's it. Still lowers your reported wage to the government decreasing your earnings in the eyes of social security.
