So what you are saying is AFTER the Trump tax change your company now pays part of your pay on per diem and they charge nothing for that either directly or via a pay change? You rate of pay is exactly the same or did you accept some concession, however small, to be partially paid on per diem?

Thanks to competition my pay is higher than ever at 53cpm with per diem noted and taxes paid less the amount of per diem.

You did not directly answer the question. Is there a different rate of pay at your company for those who are partially paid per diem vs those who are not partially paid non per diem.

And this is a separate question but related to the above question, are ALL drivers paid on per diem at your company or are there some who are not?

I don't know if there are some that chose not to be paid per diem, but there is no pay rate change for not taking per diem.

This is incorrect, what you post here, about admin fee. Might be the case for a few companies, but most should be providing a company per diem without any fee. In fact, it's another selling point for companies to attract drivers.
If the company doesn't give you a choice of an attractive per diem without fee, don't drive for them. Simple

    Tb0n3 Thanks this.

Your company is a rare breed if what you are saying is true and accurate. Most charge a fee of some sort for paying part of your pay as per diem. Usually a few less CPM vs those who do not take per diem.

With a company per diem plan your company does save money by not paying FICA taxes on that part of your income.
That will hurt you later when you retire.
But at least our taxes are easier to file...

I just did my taxes a week ago. With the higher standard deduction this year I didn't itemize for the first time in twenty years. So not having the per diem deduction didn't matter. However, I can use the per diem on my state taxes when I itemized. Having not changed any of my tax witholdings I am gettting a larger refund from the Feds this year.

And how is that different from the previous per diem for me? It's always decreased social security.
