Anyone know if a bankruptcy and tax lien automatically disqualify you for company sponsored training? I know all companies do a background check and these two things will show up. Any companies that i should apply to that might over look this? I am only interested in solo driving and located in Ontario, CA.

Those issues don't disqualify you except for a couple of nitpicky companies. Just answer any questions honestly and don't volunteer information that isn't requested.

Earl Henderson Trucking - try this company first.

If this doesn't work, then try:

    James H. Clark & Son
    Knight Transportation

Personally, if NO application asks such questions, DO NOT volunteer them!

I have only known of about 3 companies I applied to, that wanted to do a credit check on me. I said BS, you don't need to know my credit, and I walked out.

There are valid reasons for an employer to want to know your financial situation, as they feel that if you are in deep debt, you might steal from them. But to me, I need not work for such companies that want to know too much about me, other than the usual accidents, tickets, past employers.

I think that this too much information, they can squeeze someone, or use it against you in some way.

(I watch too many conspiracy tv shows and movies apparently) But I still would not go too far in my background that isn't of the normal job application.

A loan application for a car, truck, home would be different, as they DO NEED to know your finances.

I think when when they're doing credit check, they're looking more for public records and back child support, some states yank your license if you fall behind in child support. I sold cars for a few years I've seen some nasty credit reports due to not paying child support.

They also have monitoring devices in the trucks including cameras watching the driver.
