Does anyone know of a company who will lease on a truck and then let the o/o haul some of there own loads occasionally?
I have a few very good paying accounts I'd like to bring with me when I buy my truck but they don't run all the time and I don't have the money behind me right away to go totally independant. At least not for awhile.

Unless you can find a 0/0 to lease to that isn't doing any thing other than allowing you access to his authority I doubt you'll find what you want. Any large company that you might lease to is going to want a cut of the pie. Thats all I've heard about.

Ya, I don't mind giving them a cut of the pie. That is the whole point afterall but I do know these are VERY good paying accounts so I don't want them getting TOO greedy with that said pie.

We used to have two friends leased to us when we had our authority who did there own thing but I'd prefer to get a co big enough to lease to who has there own freight base also. If I had enough accounts to keep busy all the time I would just get my authority back

If you lease your truck to a company, you have to park your own authority, you can't switch back and forth on a whim. Now as you probably know, you could run your own authority and do your own customer and get on a board or call C H robinson for a load out or back. The companies I know of,like the one i am with now,can broker loads to you and you have your own authority and insurance,or you can lease directly and they pay, plates, ifta etc for you, thats really better in the lo ng run because you get paid empty and loaded miles, versus your own authority and get paid only loaded miles. Thru my experience, most companies won't use you if they even think you are trying to get their accounts, not a thing to mention on hauling your own loads,at least it was this way in the past for me.

There is a Company back home, only 5 to 10 trucks at the most who haul out their own loads, and leased on another to get backhauls. Chearokee Trucking is it's name, and if I am remembering crorrectly they are lease onto Trism or something like that...

I'm not stealing acocunts from where I work. Where I work is they account I want to be able to service after I buy a truck and leave bt they don't have enough to let me lease on. But it's very specialized mobile medical imaging equipment which brings top doller and has a very limited amount of people who know how to haul them
