So I'm working on getting started in trucking, I have already done trucking school and now I'm ready to get started, but I'm concerned about being able to make enogh money to pay my bills, how much money can I expect to make a week starting out? I know every company is different, but just want an a average so I'll have an idea. Thanks

assume 500 to 600 a week if you do better great if not that i think is the average for first year drivers ....you must take into account also that living on the road does cost money also

If you "net" $5-600 weekly, that's about average for a newb. However, there can be exceptions, meaning higher or lower.

Yea I should be OK if I can make about $500 a week I know it depends on the miles you get, and hopefully the company will give me miles, Im probably gonna be going with swift, anybody know how they are on giving new drivers miles?

Being in va check out Epes....my average net first year with them was 6-800 sometimes more not so often less and home every weekend. We have terminals in Greensboro and Chester. If you want more info pm me and I'll give you the first year salary and details on the company. You'll be impressed. Smaller company=better choice. They don't hire from every school but if they hire from yours it's a good gig.

Depending on the company you are going to be at around .26-.29cpm which works out to $650-$700 week gross

I was only getting around 350 a week with swift for the first few months. The starting pay is one of the lowest out there.

I have limited options because I had a wreckless driving ticket 3 years ago and I did trucking school 18 months ago.
