Converting 12.7 with rear sump to 14L with front sump

Well egr came out in late 2003. With that came the vgt turbo. They need that turbo to make the egr work correctly.

I'm pretty sure it should have a vgt on there.

 

I thought so as well but it has an everyday waste gated turbo. The driver says it will really pull. I’ll look around to see if anything else isn’t 100% normal looking.
I’m beginning to shy away from the low mileage 07 as he can’t read the serial number. He knows where to look and that Detroit does do a good job of stamping the block.
