ok people. I know someone we all know and love has a Kenworth thread going. Didn’t want to infringe on our beloved snowman.
I’m switching to another terminal. Losing my Volvo. This terminal is very rural. Kenworth and Freightliner dealers there.
The terminal has a good 2016 Freightliner I could drive. Kinda like the idea. Easy maintenance/shop work. Reliable.
Now I’m being told to drive a Kenworth 680 to that terminal from Denver. It was being used in Denver. So it looks like I got a choice. I’ll already have my stuff in the Kenworth.
So? Gotta admit I’m not all that crazy about Kenworth. Mostly many drivers attitudes who drive them. I’m not an attitude person.
Also I did drive a Kenworth T370 for 7 years. It was ok. Not impressed. Dealer was dysfunctional.
So convince me I should take the Kenworth or Freightliner.
Convince me on Kenworth vs Freightliner

Whats the drivetrain in each? Miles on each? Compare the guts first driver.
Texnmidwest, Lumper Humper, Bean Jr. and 5 others Thank this. -

On a more serious note 680s have a longer wheelbase and usually ride better than cascadias.
The drivetrain and how the entire truck has been used and maintained matter more than who made the frame.
I think its a rotten shame how even class 8 trucks are becoming more and more of a disposable commodity these days.Last edited: Jun 19, 2018

The chicks will think you look more cool in a 680.
Omega1, jeff18, Dave_in_AZ and 2 others Thank this. -
the ride means nothing when you're a company driver. the pay is the same. the difference in the interior room/comfort, mean a lot more than looks and the name plate on the outside.jeff18, KillingTime and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
