Conway Truckload Drivers what is your 20?

Mustang I'm using my phone for internet. Deliver on 31st and unable to bump to earlier day/time so gonna get a 34 relatively close to consigned. Didn't hear alarm go off this morning overslept 2 hours but ran 630 yesterday so not a major issue.

 

I can tether mine, but its just not fast enough.
I just use the phone itself for this, read the news.
Need more power to play xbox, or do some downloading before sopa ruins the internet.

That is exactly why I run as.far as time will let me, get as close as I can to where I need to be.
That way I'd something unexpected comes up, I hopefully have a cushion.

I have 3 alarm clocks
The one on my phone, which I set for 3 different times, and can screw up with tome zone changes.
This happens if on cusp of a time zone, and phone grabs towers in wrong tome zone.
I have a 12 volt plug in one,
And last one, screaming meamie, as last resort.

 

Directions, and over night parking.
Is it me, or is there a downward trend of getting loads without directions, or if overnight parking us available.
Seems that last few loads where clearly steets & trips direction, or none at all.
Normally I'll find my way, but that parking is a big thing for me.
With e logs, getting there and having as many hours available is important for both me and planners.
Oh well, I guess its better than the days of a address and phone #, if you were lucky you got both.

 

Sitting in the Joplin yard, need some work done on the trailer, and going to get my passport done.

 

Sitting at a tiny Pilot just north of Knoxville. Deadheaded from Roanoke down to almost Augusta, Ga. and ended day here with 3 minutes left on my 11. Was headed for Flint but delivery got pushed from Monday to Wednesday so they got me dropping it at Taylor Saturday evening. Consignees, they added two additional days to a load that already had a reset on it. Atleast I'll be able to board instead of taking a reset.

 

Just hiked 20+ blocks to the post office, passport began though

 

Forgot to mention, I ran Fancy Gap at 2am in rain and dense Fog this morning. Won't be doing that again! GPS had me heading back up I-77 with this load. I elected to take US25 up to 121, then I-26 to I-40 and across to I-75. Same miles and much safer!

 

Well I got passport taken care of, checked condition of chains, got oil, antifreeze, and power steering fluids. Now gonna try and get about 3 hours driving in and hopefully find parking somewhere around Rolla

 

Had the same fog on fancy gap in the daytime last week. It's no better than night. We crawled down the mountain. T/A between Victoria and Houston tonight. Statesville, NC by monday morning.
