I'm looking for some advice from experienced truck drivers and mechanics. I've been driving a company-owned semi, and I've noticed a few things that have me concerned. On a couple of occasions, it seemed like the truck suddenly developed a coolant issue that forced me to stop, and it made me wonder whether it's technically possible for a fleet owner or dispatcher to remotely interact with the truck's ECM or another telematics system in a way that could affect the cooling system or cause coolant to be released from the reservoir. I also have the impression that the company knows a lot about what I'm doing inside the truck, beyond normal GPS tracking and ELD data, so I'm wondering if hidden interior cameras are something that companies actually install. I'm not making accusations—I just want to understand what modern fleet management systems are capable of. Can an ECM or telematics system remotely control engine functions or coolant systems, and how would someone know if a truck has an interior camera? I'd appreciate factual information from anyone with experience in fleet maintenance or trucking technology.

Oooo, you're on shaky ground there, pal. In fact, just responding to you may incur all kinds of wrath,,,Hey, hey, where are you taking me?
1st, relax, there would be much easier ways to shut a truck down, not mess with something that may cause a repair. Besides, that would be a safety issue, can't have that. Something else to blame there. 2nd, surveillance is top priority today, and you have been "watched" for years. It may not be a camera on the dash either, plenty of places to "hide" a lens. Illegal, you say?
And what are you doing that makes you worry? See? That's how they got you, guilty until proven innocent. One of the main reasons I stopped driving, was because of cameras. Right here boss,,,
it's only going to get worse.
