Cop Distracted By Computer Hit Truck

I think we should mob together and change it if so. It doesn't matter who you are or what you do you shouldn't be exempt from paying attention to the road he lucky it was a truck and not a little car or he might have a innocent life on his hands

 

A couple years ago, a CHP officer crashed into a car killing a teenage boy on I-5 near Orland, California due to being distracted by his cruiser computer. Nothing ever came of that.

 

Last I knew the state of Iowa had soft ware that locked out the computer screen when the cop car was moving. Apparently more states need that.

so he was driving off duty. smh

 

that makes zero cents. how would they run your plate or receive info on computer when responding. all radio traffic is dispatched both radio and computer. same as ems and fire

 

Im sure they will blame the truck driver

 

I’m sure they could have dispatch run your plate.

 

theres a ton of things being done in flight.

 

during my last big Ef Up in life the kind officer ran my license plate and driver license number through dispatch... don’t recall him using the computer for a single dang thing. This was a Park Ranger too... but I doubt state or locals are any different.

Which leads me to wonder what in the hell this officer was using it for in the first place? Checking his work email?
