Was already kinda lose when I got truck and it came off today.
Is just front corner, steer tire is exposed.
Is this something DOT can give me a hassle for?
It's a Sunday and in middle of nowhere so nothing I can do anyway.

It appears as if DOT can do whatever they want
Maybe mark it in your pre or post trip and then order a new one
I wouldn’t say it fell of, maybe loose and you removed. Or don’t say anything where it went
That way you have record of the issue and the fix
I doubt they’d write you up as you’re not going to get it repaired immediatelyKenworth6969 Thanks this. -
Just makes it look like you’ve ripped off a bumper to everyone.Kenworth6969 Thanks this. -
We had macks at Chem Leaman with aluminum bumpers that stopped just short of the inside of the steering tires, came that way from the plant.
Later Malack had that same bumper with plastic 'dumbo ears' making up the width over the steering tires.
