This is a big concern for me as i I can't afford an altercation with the law just for trying to get to work, and if freight stops or slows too much for even a short period of time it can be bad for everyone. Has anybody heard any news, or know what the government or state has planned. Or are we just gonna be stuck at home.

TBH I don't see the US imposing any quarantines at all. They MAY put out advisories to stay indoors...etc. But this isn't China/Russia...etc.

There are regularions in effect that could be activated IF the CDC were to upgrade the status of this virus to a "Pandemic"... But the likely hood of this is VERY, VERY unlikely.

However if these regulations were activated Homeland security could impose quarantines... Up to and including confining people to thier homes. But as I said this is very unlikely... Keep in mid that the mortality rate of this virus is actually less than that of the influenza virus.

Although it is a good idea to take precautions to not get this virus, or any other virus, the media is really making this out to be way scarier than it really is. And thus is causing people to over react.

In Arkansas the Arkansas Dept of Health in our State Govt holds the quarintine authority. Possibly isolating a town, city or even a county etc. on Paper. It would be up to the law enfrocement to enforce.

Now if you removed posse commatatius from the Gaurd Units or regular military, they can move in to make sure nothing in nothing out. 1968's invasion of Baltimore by Three Regular infantry divisions as a formal theater of operations with two plus in reserve and DC the command center during that operation would come to mind. We kids were taken out of the city a month before it was occupied under military rule. Which would be about the third or forth time in that city's history in which US Cannon pointed at the place and her people.

We are a free nation. China can do this at the point of a bayonet. The USA does not dare at this stage. If things are that far gone then it would be safe to assume that anarchy is in force with martial law and all things associated with that. The Army manuals provide for all levels of force against a rebellious city up to nuclear fires even.

I don;t spent time worrying about stuff like that. Its mind mending.

    Nobody move.

Put the sanitizer down, and take two steps BACK.

Now. With your left hand, YOUR LEFT F HAND DRIVER. Open your door and climb in your truck.

Now with your right hand, close the door.

Now. Using your left hand AGAIN, toss the keys out the window.

A member of our unit will be by sometime tonight with a pale for you to defecate in.

    KEEP YOUR WINDOWS UP.

All reports so far show the only people dying are those with impaired health. You know, the ones that are sick, have defects or are malnourished? More people will die from the flu in this country than those who get the Corona virus.

The unwarranted fear and concern is generated by those lovable, trustworthy folks in the press. Relax! You'll probably die from some newby driver like me running you over a cliff while I watch car porn on my phone.

The best solution is not to get in a situation where your travels might be stopped by some type of quarantine, if it really bothers you. I'm not in the USA, so the only info I have is the so called "news" on the internet, but it looks pretty grim. Companies telling their employees to work from home, cancelled big events, a hotel being bought up as a quarantine site, etc.

The reactions of people, en masse, will be worse than the actual virus itself. I'm hearing of panic buying of essential supplies at places like Costco and Sams Club. So companies like Knight-Swift will be busy with deliveries to those stores in the future, or not, if people start staying home and not showing up for work.

In my personal case, I was supposed to fly back from Asia to the USA to attend orientation on Saturday, I cancelled my trip at the last minute because I don't want to be in a truck with no way to resupply or defend myself if the SHTF, but that's just me, I weighed the "risk versus reward" and decided that they don't pay me enough. Life is short anyway and I'm not taking any vaccine to make it shorter.
