I started a new gig within the company and find myself looking for a bunch of new places sometimes with just an address so I dug out my old Garmin from my OTR days.
It needs to be updated, hasn't been used in a couple years and I'm having some trouble figuring out just how to go about it.
I believe it's a Nuvi 465T although it just has 465 printed on the label, it is the trucker version and I bought it at a Love's truck stop back in 2010.
I've been to the Garmin express website and watched a video but it has you downloading software into your computer and plugging the GPS into the computer with a USB cord, the 465 I have has no USB port that I can find, just a smart card port.
If there is a USB cord with one end made for that port I don't have it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated here, I thought this thing could be updated via satellite, is that wrong?

Looking on eBay I found this, looks like it plugs in where the charger does and does updates,is this what I need?

yes it plugs into the nuvi power plug hole.

The mini-USB connection is on the back of it. If a Garmin doesn't have LM after the model number you'll have to pay for the update. $50. The "T" means it has lifetime traffic updates which it receives across an FM signal.
Here's the owners manual.

You'll have to do the download to your computer and then plug the unit up to your computer. The manual and on screen directions will help you.
