Me and the fiancée MIGHT be buying cars on west coast and bring them to east coast 2x a year 6 or 7 cars/trucks/suvs at a time.
1How do I know what to back in and wereverything
    2. How will I know curb weights (assume that is needed???)
    3. Secure mentioned, do I use tire straps, or can I just use towards points and crank down to trailer frame?( ex flatbedder)
    4. Do I need a tandem axle tractor?
    5. Would I have to have dot numbers and follow dot rules and regs?
Thanks guys. Sorry if these are stupid question but ant hurt right?

Are you buying 6 or 7 cars x 2 a year for you and your fiancée as toys to stick in the display case or will you play with them first then sell?

    Sounds like @damutt is asking

what kind of tractor/trailer is needed to safely move up to 7 car's, pick up's suv,s from coast to coast in one trip.

    which vehicle's fit together,

how to locate weights per item and weight distribution,

    how to properly secure,

and what's needed to be legal.

So you think you can buy a 7 car trailer and a tractor to pull it, pay for insurance and maintenance, and food on the road for less than what it costs to pay for 2 loads? That's funny.

Those 2 loads won't cover the insurance.

I think the transport vehicle is more along the lines of.. 'not for hire' .. for personal use yet for personal gain .

similar to the rancher that travels out of state to buy stock at the auction, hauls em back to the ranch to sell at later date that you pick up yourself. .. does it make it difference in overhead costs?

That would put him even further in the negative, as he would lose out on hauling loads from the east coast to the west coast.

On top of the fact that would not exempt him from DOT number, ifta, log book etc.

    dca Thanks this.

so .. if a venture to bring rust free vehicles to the east side is a go it would be cost affective to fly out, rent a room, car and or a cab/uber for the duration of purchase, and .. hire a carrier to transport the vehicles?
