Per Diem is a tax term. It is not extra pay. It is pay they pay to you but do not pay Social Security on. Pay of waiting is real pay but it is sometimes very hard to get. If they offer it, you will be waiting a lot.

So did you flip a container yet? I can't remember what day it was but I drove by three containers on its side in a single day a couple of weeks ago. Two on the 710 and one on the 91.

Not to mention the flipped Ferraris and Mercedes up on the embankment from racing. The stretch down to the Vincent Thomas is as close to Mad Max as it gets.

    knyucklehead Thanks this.

That bridge is scary especially when in a rig.

Just in terminal flip lines ( '_; ) I've seen many from people trying to get on and off the 103, especially the pch off ramp which is a tight 180. I've also seen them on the 91 to 710 transition, as you mentioned. I do lots of heavy weight containers so I make sure to take it easy and pay special attention to the feel of the container. They're all different so that keeps me on my toes. I'm really just trying to keep the "don't eff it up" mentality going while I rack up experience in hopes of one day landing a better paying job.
