A couple that used too advertise on the radio comes to mind. There used to be a dump at channelview just east of Houston, called the key they advertised they would give you a fuel ticket to cover the cost of a lizard. lol I worked a lot at baytown back in the late 80's and this place had a tin building behind it that was a bar, From what I heard on the radio they issued you agun if you went in there. lol
I did stop at it sometime in the early 2000's and it had been remodeled, the bar looked like it had been closed for years, it still was not a place I would have spent the night.
Another was still in Texas, somewhere around the 406 mm on I-20, they advertised that you could buy chrome from their chrome shop and they would put it on a fuel ticket.

The Truck & Travel at the 406 is in Weatherford. Still there. Don't know if they still put the chrome on the fuel ticket though.

I am sure they don't, that was probably in the 90's when I heard it.
