I agree. Size, in this case, doesn't matter. I've worked for larger companies than Crete that could plan at least one load ahead most of the time. Comparing Crete to Poly isn't fair...it would be like comparing apples to potato chips. Crete, for the most part, is an irregular route, general freight hauling company in competiton with other general freight hauling companies. Poly is the private delivery division of Poly America. We only haul general freight to get us back to one of our company's production facilities in order to move more of our company's product.
If you enjoy working for Crete...then enjoy it...I, on the other hand, saw them transform from the tail end of "the good ole' days", when you had a choice of loads and no forced anything, to what they have become today. Which is why I have the attitude I do. I saw it better there and see how the company has morphed into a clone of so many other ATA member companies. It was almost like they all get together and have a secret meeting and plan an agenda for how they're all gona adopt the same changes over the next year.

We'll, my data plan reset today, 11.9gigs this month, that garmin express did a surprise download on me and then backed it up to Carbonite.
My fuel gelled up Thursday morning in the -17 degree heat. Turned my good load into a run nonstop except for my 10 hour break load.
This morning it showed the fuel filter warning, but it ran good and the light went out. Yes I use the antigell. At least my check engine light went out after 52,000 miles -
At 0830 yesterday I picked up a load of pet food at West Jefferson going to Hagerstown. Load scaled a 81940 (with a quarter tank of fuel) so back for some rework. At 15:30 my load was "done" total weight per BOL 38699. Back to the Pilot and scaled at 77480 gross 31680 trailer and 34080 drives (tandems as far forward as they'll go, and still only a quarter tank of fuel. Hours shot, not going to make my appointment explain the situation to dispatch and was told to stay on it but with as little fuel as possible. So when I arrived at Sam's DC in Hagerstown plenty late I was ready to be turned away. But no, they would take me, until I got to the office and they saw BOL Instead of printing a new one, the shipper had "altered" the original with pen, so load rejected. And I would probably not be approved for detention. After two and a half hours of waiting while the CSR "worked" on it I asked if I could Tcall. Was told no they're overbooked. Sorry for the long rant, I guess I'm a little frustrated.

Every Dog has it's day....I am a Preferred Traveler, which means everything is fine/dandy as long as I stay out of Eastern Standard Time. Naw, I am not on 11-western either.

Hang in there. Every time this happens to me or someone else I can't help but notice every single person you come into contact with is still receiving their pay while we don't, even though the delay is not our fault. Hope things work out for the best.
