Crete Carrier: what pay is actually like in the 21 day dry van fleet

No they put me in a Kenworth T680. but that is only because i noticed kennys in their fleet and asked if i can be put in one if that is an option during orientation. otherwise they would have put me in a cascadia. the road test was also in a cascadia.

i wanted the kenny because they have tool box doors on both sides while their cascadias are the variant with only one tool box door on the driver side. also i only ever drove a cascadia so far amd wanted to try something different, and the tool box door on the right side gives me easy access to a collapsable weight bench and a pair of modular dumbells that i keep in the truck.

also as for the cents per mile theyll tell you that it is 64 cents per mile but it is actually .63 cpm for me because i have per diem.

 

ok today is the moment where i show you my first real paycheck!

first and second paychecks sucked because the first one was just orientation pay and the second one was my first week driving where they gave me a few short loads before piling on the miles.

wish i can share a screenshot of this but im on my phone.

Cents per Mile:
.64/mile, minus .01/mile for admin fee because i have per diem activated. so my actual pay is .63/mile

Before taxes:
1,705.42

After taxes and heath, dental and vision
was taken out:
1,419.41

not bad for my third pay period, and this paycheck represents a week that includes a 34hr reset!

here is some context:
-i have per diem activated, an option you have with crete. so less money is taxed.

-im a solo OTR company driver for crete in the 21 day dry van fleet

-i dont have kids, child support, alimoney, etc.

 

ok just got paid today. for this pay cycle i drove 3,438 miles.

Before taxes/deductions: 2,211.62
Take home pay: 1,842.80

That's the biggest paycheck i ever got in my life. And that pay period involved a 34hr reset.
