Hi I’m hauling a 36’ trailer and due some problems I have to stay between 50 to 60 speed .
I’m in Tallahassee right now and I have 5 days to get in Los Angeles . So time isn’t a problem.
What would be the best route to get and not be in a dangerous situation knowing that specially in Texas roads might be 80mph limit?
ps: 11’ high clearance
Crossing from FL to CA best route for slow truck

Be sure to use I-20...instead of I-10...when going through Louisiana.
You can thank me, later....

Easiest & shortest is run I10
Concorde Thanks this. -
It looks like you can go I-10 straight across, or you can cut up from Mobile to Jackson and take I-20 across to pick I-10 back up in west Texas, or you can take I-20 to US 287 in Fort Worth up to I-40 in Amarillo and go across that way. All three routes are roughly the same, timewise. When I have a California trip out of Dallas, I pick which route to take based on the weather forecast.
You’re going to have folks passing you any way you go, just stay in the right lane and on the real fast parts use your hazards if you drop down slower than 55 mph.Sirscrapntruckalot and Boatway Thank this. -
Weather this time of year there can change hourly. I'd run I10, I hate driving thru d
Dallas and its shorterSirscrapntruckalot, Chinatown, Boatway and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yeah, I hate driving through DFW, though I-20 doesn’t suck as bad as I-30. I don’t love driving through Houston, either!
Sirscrapntruckalot Thanks this. -
Fix your problems or create new ones..or just straight up end all your problems.
At 50 mph you’re nothing but a road hazard on the interstate. Don’t drive at night, coming up on tail lights where the lead vehicle is running 25 under is hard to judge until it’s almost too late. The mind plays tricks on us from time to time. A tired driver may just be fixated on your lights never realizing how fast the gap is closing.Sirscrapntruckalot and tarmadilo Thank this.
