I just spotted a CRST truck pulling a set of YRC doubles. What's up with that?

Schneider does it, too. They have special single-axle sleepers just for that account. I've also seen Werner trucks pulling ABF sets. Crazy stuff, man.

This is why I keep putting off paying for CDL school, there go the linehaul jobs.

I've seen a lot of sleepers, Mostly companies I have never even heard of (Owner Ops maybe?) pulling UPS trailers also.

Not all though. I'm pretty sure they just use them for very long runs, possibly run by teams. It isn't super-common from what I see out there every night. I doubt many schedule runs normally carried by company drivers are being replaced by those drivers. These companies need ultra-reliable people to show up on time and not drag their feet out there. "Purchase Transportation" tends to be unreliable for most applications.

Now that's a situation I see more often (and one I've heard their drivers complain about). But I bet those owner-operators are more reliable than the new mega drivers.

I heard they use the sleepers when the rail is full and can't take any more.
