CSA points - How to get it?

So, a friend of mine went to the FMCSA website and paid $ 10.00 to find out how many points he has so far. He got a big spreadsheet with a list of his violations since 2009, code numbers, description of violations, etc but no points... WTF??? He didn't need to pay $ 10.00 to know how many violations he has and what they were. He could have looked it up in his old records. So, now, after paying $ 10.00 he still doesn't know how many points he has in this stupid CSA thing. Will he have to resort to the CSA guide to find out how many points each violation is and do the calculation himself? Does anybody know? This CSA score system is a big piece of C*@&...

 

Yes, he had that link and that's where he went to get the info. He already knew what his violations where from his prior records but as there were many and some he couldn't even find listed in the CSA guide, he wanted to know his total points. And that's what he thought he would get from the FMCSA website. Now, he is back to square one and paid $ 10.00 for nothing. Companies use third party business to provide them with their drivers' points but those points are not accurate because they lack info, and don't update them as often as they should.

 

So, when companies go to that PSP website to check on their potential new drivers they aren't looking for how many points the drivers have, just quantity of violations, type of violations, crashes and things of that sort?

Yes, my friend paid $ 10.00 to know something he already knew.
