Did some searching but couldn’t find quite what I was looking for.
Has anyone successfully swapped from a NG/LP fueled truck to a diesel engine? We farm and do 99% of our shop work ourselves, motor repair/swaps, tranny swaps etc, so that part doesn’t scare me, but short of the long block/accessories, engine harness, fuel/tank, what else is different? Coolers? Is the base wiring the same in the cab? We run all ISMs so I would be mostly looking at swapping from an ISL or ISX12 G to an ISM.
Some of these 10ish year old alternative fuel trucks can be bought very reasonable with <500k on them. I’m always looking for a challenge (recently put a pre-egr motor into a 2007+ truck) but I don’t want to get into it so far that dash harnesses, computers, and the entire truck needs to be rebuilt.
Edit to add: Would most likely be on a Pete 384 or a 579.
