i have a international 8600 with a cummins ism with egr. trucks burns about 128 gallons a week compare to my Detroit 12.7L 14L and other m11 that burn between 70-90 gallons a week. any idea on what causes poor fuel mileage with these motors? truck has a variable vane turbo on it which appears to function properly.

Not really enough info to determine anything. Drivetrain specs? Same drivers? Same routes? Same loads?

    Brettj3876 Thanks this.

Yea that's quite a bit more fuel. If they're the same loads I'm betting the rears are super low or egr issues. Even if the driver has a lead foot that's a ton more fuel.

What weight, hp, trans and rears?
