I have a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia with a Cummins ISX and I get a small puddle when I start the motor. Any ideas? Oil cooler needs to be resealed? And how much do you think that'll cost me in terms of hours, etc. Thank you

    Where is the leak?

    How many miles?

They tend to leak every which way after awhile.

I have the same truck / engine.

    JohnSmith69 Thanks this.

I think it's the front cover, I have 530k miles. This truck has been a God #### nightmare since the day I bought it.

The front cover is the gear housing.

    Probably $6000ish at Cummins.

The guys at the Detroit/Volvo house in Panama City, FL will do it for about $3500.

If it's the same design motor I had. 05. The front cover warps around the oil pan area.

Replacement was $3500 10 years ago from an independent shop.

If you use the right oil. They leak out of just about every gasket.

If you use the right oil. They don't leak. Mine had a sticker on the frame. Mobil

I found mobile delvac and delo 400 to be the best oils for that motor.

Anything else and the motor leaks. Sounds like a tank. And would run hot if the oil was crappy enough.

That motor had 1.3M miles on it though.

You've got a newer motor. Supposedly improved from what I had.

I might try that. We're pulling our '05 off the road tomorrow and it leaks like a sieve. It will be used for yard work and local less than 15 mile runs. I'll throw in some Delvac to see if it slows it down.

Is this something I have to fix immediately or can I kick this can down the road?
