I would take the Caterpillar C15 over the Cummins. The caterpillar costs more and weights more.

I dont know about costs but parts for CAT have droped a lot. Even N14 vs C15 the parts for the C15 are cheaper now! Dont get me started on isx prices.
If you are talking new 08+ engines it wont really matter as they both suck. If you are talking 07 and older then no contest CAT hands down!
Theres good and bad apples in every bunch, frankly there are way more good apples in the CAT bunch then in the cummins bunch. -

yeah these newer 07 or newer cat model motors with the dpf exhaust stuff on there they stink. Im sure the motor itself is fine but tha dpf done ruined them im constantly having issues with the dpf exhaust crap on here. If your not running cali and going for a rebuild I would go older style cat over cummings anyday....
