I was on GTI's website and I don't see a payscale. Could a current driver tell me how much with 6years exp is paying out over there? Also any other current info would be great.

How many miles are you current drivers averaging with Gordon?
How is the regularity of your hometime ? -
Miles and pay scale vary with the fleet your on. The last I spoke with a midwest fleet driver he claimed over 3000 mils per week on average. My personal avg is closer to 2800 per week but I live on the west coast and take regular hometime.

if you live in the midwest and run otr traditional, i think its .40cpm, i dont have my sheet with me. as for miles, i run team and it varies every week. one week, 6600, then next 3 we only got 4300 with low end of 3000. lot of changes since january that have not made alot of us smile. if you have 1yr with gordon, no pay raise, once you reach 1 yr, you get your 1yr raise, then your froze. hometime, now thats a joke. we stay out about 8wks, put in hometime when we leave out, and when its time, told no frieght going east, but sit and watch other drivers getting dispatched on loads going east, they do not like to let you go home. have had to fight now just to get detention and layover pay from trips dept. its said that dad took company back from son, so will have to see if things change, me, im looking to go else where, cant pay and take care of family when your only taking home $600.00 to $700.00 a week when you use to take home $1200.00 a wk. and pratical miles pay, thats a joke, i took a 12.5% loss in pay from pc miler.

Gordon is scaring me. My husband just started this week. First he was told he would be out 14 days, then possibly 21 because the one trainer had to be back. When he left the terminal on Tuesday, he didn't even know what day he was leaving, what time he was leaving, or how long he would be gone. Then they called at noon yesterday (Wednesday) that his trainer was leaving at 3 p.m. They called the house phone when he told them to call his cell phone because he always has it, and we had almost left the house because he hadn't gotten a call yet. When he talked to the trainer, now he's out 30 days. When the trainer has home time, my husband is stuck in a motel because the trainer isn't even from the area! And it doesn't count towards his training time!
This isn't what he signed on for! Our daughter just left for boot camp on Monday, he left yesterday, and I'm home going nuts! The whole training thing is very disorganized. He had to call the recruiter at the terminal on Monday afternoon because he still hadn't heard back about when he was supposed to be there on Tuesday for training.
We want to be in San Antonio in September when our daughter graduates from boot camp, they told him that it would be no problem, but after reading the posts, I wonder?
I don't know who to tell him to apply to either, everyone wants at least a minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience. Plus, he's been out of school 3 1/2 months because he wanted to stay home until our daughter left for the military (she's our only child). So, if anyone has any advice for me, let me know! Please! -
hang in there. being that he is new, once he gets off the trk, they are going to run him. hometime is the one thing that, ya, it will get under your skin. is he going to stay regional or is he going otr traditional? IF he is going to make it in time for you to see her in sept, be on thier butts every week. they are big on playing the game, no frieght going that way when its time to go home, but you run into tons of drivers that got dispatched when you did, before or right after you all headed where you needed to go. when that happens, get that trks number, give it to your dm, let them fight it out with the planners. planners have a thing about no driver goes home or off time, they will try all they can to keep that from happening. good luck, and hang in there.

you west coast guys get treated way better then the rest of us do. you get more miles, better trucks, better dm's. thats just a known fact. -

I will have to disagree with the one poster. I run the midwest and get home every other weekend with no fight. The guys who run out west from the midwest will have problems getting freight back, been there done that. That is why I chose to stay in the midwest. I will also say I could not be happier with this company. I am treated fairly and with respect. I do what am asked in regard to loads. Yes, I do not complain about getting short runs because they are usually backed up with a good one. The fact is every company has it's flaws. The other fact that I can a-test to is the first year is the hardest, you get frustrated and wonder why you got into this profession. Then everything starts to click, you stop getting lost trying to find your picks or drops. You get a routine down with your pre-trip in the morning, paper work at night while your dinner is cooking and when your going to shower. This is not an easy job by any stretch, but is what you make it. I also have to say there is a good chance I know the trainer your husband got on with and will tell you he is a great guy and one of the best trainers. Your husband is in good hands and will learn a lot. This is a good company, just give them a chance.

well, i have to say, good company, no. i do not turn down loads, no sf's and i watch drivers from the west coast get loads going east while i am told, sorry, no frieght every time, but if im not due hometime, boy now theres frieght going east. maint. sucks. i have been broke down more then i have ever with anyone else and taken over a $20,000 hit in my income this yr. gordon has started hiring anyone and anybody, and alot latley of former swift drivers. when i started with gordon a year ago, good company, come jan, they went down hill fast and i have even seen drivers that have been with them 15-20yrs quit on the spot because of the games they are now playing. not to mention no more pay raises for anyone, period. im already looking for a new job and once i have one, im out.
