CVSA calls for rule requiring truckers to carry proof of authorization for passengers

This is quite dumb…I think this is just another way to slap a violation.. most carriers already have policies regarding this mess..

 

Not throwing shade on ya there. But maybe I work for sketchy outfits.

Me (on the phone): Hey (dispatcher's name) the misses is going out with me on this run.

Dispatcher: K

Nothing further was ever said or requested.

Me (during an inspection): Morning officer!

DOT: Who's this?

Me: The misses, if I'm over weight it's because the planners didn't account for my passenger.

DOT: HAHA!

Mrs: Did you call me fat?!

 

First it’s TAT meaning Trucker’s Against Trafficking..

Now it’s TAT meaning Trucker’s Are Trafficking..

Guilty until proven innocent

Looks like CVSA is trying to expand their role into sex trafficking police..

 

We(Marten) already do that.

We have a rider pass system that we can send in automatically on the ELD tablet,either on the Omnitracs (older trucks) or the Platform Science (newer or updated trucks)via macros.

We’ve been doing this for over a decade.
WTF rock has CVSA been hiding under??

Every company I've driven for has had this policy. How strictly they enfirce it us beyond me as its been awhile since I had one.

 

Last time I can remember DOT asking about a rider pass was in the 90's

 

Was never asked about one but every company ive driven for still has said policy.
