hello everyone, I've been reading a lot of posts for a couple of months and finally decided to make an account. I've applied to numerous local TRUCKING places but since I just graduated no one seems to be hiring new drivers, so I sent in an application to Cypress trucking who happens to be about 1 mile from my house.cypress? I don't really care about older trucks as long as it has a c lol. Thanks in advance for your help. I'm just looking for a company where I can be home every weekend and get miles.

Their trucks aren't just older, they're ancient rolling scrap heaps.

Their safety record is very good.

Those trucks aren't in bad shape.

    Mostly good folks there,

    Good Luck.

They're not a good company by any means, at least not till you've put your time in.

Meh. They have several divisions. Local end-dumps that haul limerock, rock, etc. that are home most nights ( most of those guys I have found to be, erm.....distasteful) and their OTR flats. They few of those guys I've chatted with on the cb seemed happy enough and were there at least a few years, so I guess couldn't be terrible anyway....

You have a few of those, and insurance companies, even for O/O are going to give you a hard time finding somewhere to hook on to.

it looks like the insurance company just wants a large down payment which isn't too big of a deal if I can find a company to hire me without a trailer
