I've got a 379 with a detroit 60. Currently have the wastegated Borg Warner on the truck and stock manifold, 99 engine so no egr.

I mostly run around 30-40k in the trailer. I'm just looking to get the best MPG possible. If I swap the turbo I'll also get a full tilt manifold as well. I'd like to at least be in the 470-500 hp range.

Would a 171702 (s475) work well enough, and what a/r should I be looking at? Has anyone tried an s472sxe on these engines before?

Gotta get a tune to run the s475. A decent tune with the 1.32 s475 will put you around 500-525 to the wheels. Imo go with the 75mm with the 1.32 she'll breathe a lot better on the top end. I run that on a E-7 mack and it's not really much laggy over stock

If you don't get a tune you won't be happy at all. Needs more fuel to spin the bigger windmill

Was planning on going with a 3 tune setup from DCS. I've heard good things from them so I figured I'd get them to replace the battery in the ecm while they have it too. Any idea what kind of mpg I should expect with a good tune, a full tilt manifold and a 1.32 s475?

That horsepower, that turbo is not the best. 171701 may be a better choice. I've got a DDEC2, which is putting out about 500, does very well with it. About 35 lbs boost. Comes on at about 1,350

What kind of mpg are you getting with what kind of load? If the 171701 works better for sub 500 that's fine with me. Not looking to pull a ####load of weight or anything.

When I keep my foot out of it I get 6.75-7. But with it running strong, I drive faster than I need to get great mileage. About 6.25.

To size turbo you really need to take in account What Engine Rpm you mostly work at and Cruise at ...... Is it 1200-1500 Range or more like 1400-1600 Range Or 1600 Plus

You can PM me to discuss further if you like

I'm around 600 horses using a 171702 with a billet 5 blade turbine from stainless diesel. Works great for me no complaints.
