I've got a 379 with a detroit 60. Currently have the wastegated Borg Warner on the truck and stock manifold, 99 engine so no egr.
I mostly run around 30-40k in the trailer. I'm just looking to get the best MPG possible. If I swap the turbo I'll also get a full tilt manifold as well. I'd like to at least be in the 470-500 hp range.
Would a 171702 (s475) work well enough, and what a/r should I be looking at? Has anyone tried an s472sxe on these engines before?
D60 Turbo suggestion?

Gotta get a tune to run the s475. A decent tune with the 1.32 s475 will put you around 500-525 to the wheels. Imo go with the 75mm with the 1.32 she'll breathe a lot better on the top end. I run that on a E-7 mack and it's not really much laggy over stock
If you don't get a tune you won't be happy at all. Needs more fuel to spin the bigger windmillLast edited: May 12, 2021

That horsepower, that turbo is not the best. 171701 may be a better choice. I've got a DDEC2, which is putting out about 500, does very well with it. About 35 lbs boost. Comes on at about 1,350
God prefers Diesels and simonsocm Thank this. -
Bean Jr. Thanks this.

I'm around 600 horses using a 171702 with a billet 5 blade turbine from stainless diesel. Works great for me no complaints.
Bean Jr. Thanks this.
