hello,
I’m not sure where else to go. My dad recently suffered a stroke. He is an independent contractor but mainly uses one company. He doesn’t pay into SDI so his claim was denied. I’m not sure how else to find help financially for him since he can not go back to driving his truck for a while. Does anyone know of what to do when looking for benefits while not being able to work?

Prayers for a quick recovery.
I just went through something of the same, 2 years of bare minimum income. I still am in a way, I can drive but I have a good helper hired to do everything except drive.
Is there any chance you can put a driver in his truck, sometimes that is not an option others it is not a good idea, but it may at least help pay the bills short term.Wendymarie84 Thanks this. -

yeah try that St. Christophers
St. Christopher Truckers Fund | Saving Lives and Families, One Driver at a Time
the other alternative is to hire a driver, to keep the truck rolling.
he can try Ryder logistics, Penske logistics, and a driver leasing company, i only know of maybe 2 in my area, cannot say where else they are, but at least try..??
