My opinion maybe somewhat biased, as I am a current contractor here at Daily Exp. I would be happy to answer any questions, anyone might have. I tend to write way too much info LOL, so I will keep it simple. I am a contractor at Daily Express, so if anyone needs info as a company driver I might not be as much help. That being said, Daily Express has approximately 300 drivers of that number approximately 30 to 40 are company drivers. Your experience and hauling background is going to be a high priority don't be surprised if they don't offer you a position, either as a company driver or contractor. I have been here now almost 2 months, so far so good. They are a family oriented company, positive attitude, high regard for safety, many many tools to jelp you succeed, lots of different possibilities in heavy haul, RGN, stepdeck type equipment. To my knowledge there is no flatbed type equipment because much of what you haul will require a low profile deck. I am in a special sort of category I can haul heavy with my tri-axle and also general freight as a stepdeck. I do however have a disadvantage because I don't haul track-loaders as type of equipment can damage my trailer. I wont go into detail about rates but I can say as a former Mercer contractor I have a good opportunity to grow and support my family and current debt to income ratio. Please feel free to ask me questions.

Fatgarfield, I am looking seriously at Daily. Have been approved, so long as my 96 Western Star will work with Omnitracs. I live close to their Morton yard and 3 hours from Bettendorf terminal. I realize 2 months is not a lot of time to judge the company but, I assume you are satisfied so far?

if i knew you as a friend and for the sake of argument ... i would try and convince you that they are a good company...BUT with disclaimers like with any company please do your homework.. you don't have to worry about whether they are a good company or whether you will be paid or them going out of business or treating you unfairly... nothing like that... you just have to make sure Daily Express works best for you; in terms of loaded miles, your equipment, home time vs road time, type of freight to be hauled. there are so many factors. What i do know is; my revenue, loaded miles, how they treat me, the freight I haul, the shippers (customers), receivers, the fuel discounts, tire discounts, shop support, contractor support, my coordinator support, contractors support web site... and so much WORKS well for me. im in a good position to get my debt paid down, bank and save money, invest in my business, have better opportunities within the company. Your circumstances may be different. I think I see it this way... IF you don't do well here... you may need to look at what YOU are doing wrong not what they are doing. I wish you complete success. look me up sometime if you sign on.

ohhh and the omni tracs... if you have a ECM connector the Omni Tracs will work just fine. if you don't have that connector... the newer omni tracs might not connect properly. :(

I’ve got on that I run a scan gauge on. I figured it would work with Omnitracs.

Daily just rolled by my yard the other day with a huge load , escorts said it was for a windmill it was not blades , the driver backed it on to the Badger ferry and they were on there way to Michigan , quite impressive.

    Randy68,
I've been delayed with pending hip replacement surgery. When it does happen I'll be running out of the Bettendorf terminal. I do know they've picked more outbound from Deere, Case IH and Caterpillar. I'm looking forward to going back to work but it's going to be a few months yet.

I just got a call from daily the other day. Call got dropped so I didn’t get to hear all what he had to say but I did get his email and we through it.

I’m on the fence whether I take an OTR job.

My current bosses put a bid in for a 12 hour day, 150 miles and $1500 rough pay.

Wondering if I should stick it out and wait for that bid to come back to start orientation over at daily!
