I’d like to swap out my Freightliner switches.( dump valve, fifth wheel, axle lock) with the small type, like WS, Pete or KWs have. Any suggestions? Would like to still have the red activated lights to work, when switch is flipped. Making room for a 3” pyrometer. Too late to get a 2”.

I want to get the toggle type. I want to get rid of the bulky ones, and mount the new ones in place of my ashtray, using a plate for power window switches

That’s it. I guess the switch for dash lights are plumbed in somewhere. Should just be able to swap switches right?

Now where to find them, for less than $35 each?

Pete TruckParts.com. Shows them for $21 and some change. Also check bone yards. I’ve gotten hand fulls of them for $5 each that way.

Just plumb a air actuated light switch with a tee into the line that comes from the out port to the interaxle or fifth wheel.

I used one to make a dump valve on my old Air Trac. Plumbed it with a air system pressure gauge to make a suspension load pressure gauge. The switch was probably 20 years old when I installed it 6 years ago. No leaks yet. I even found a guard for it out of another Pete.

I fabbed gaurds for these two old school ones out of aluminum flat stock.

Good Job. I’m guess the air switches are already in place for the indicator lights. For some reason I was thinking there’s a wire going to mine. But no, just an airline. I’ll get some from the Pete store. Thanks. I hate the big bulky ones I got. Not much space on Freightliner dash for more gauges. I could have just gotten a 2” pyrometer gauge. I have a spot for one. But the 3” gauge looks much nicer. Next will be a 2” fuel pressure gauge, in the empty spot. Thanks.

The 3” is the traditional size and much easier to read at a glance. I bought a couple Isspro 2” for my GTO 20 years ago and installed into the headers. They were way more $ than the 3” ones at the time. I looked and looked for the dual bank Isspro’s that were made for the v8 Cats and 8v Detroits. Could not find.
