I hope I don’t hurt your feelings because that is not my intent. YOU NEED TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR BUSINESS AND RIG IMMEDIATELY. The main reason I used small independent shops to work on my rig was because I could generally stay with my rig while most work was done. If it was a several day job I would drop it off but they knew I would be coming to check on it at any point the work didn’t go as planned or they didn’t accurately update me with progress. You can’t change the past but you need to change your future. I really hope you are trolling us with this scenario because I almost can’t F@@@ing believe it. Good luck.

I've never see a DD15 run good after being deleted. Especially if they deleted the EGR system. DPF/SCR are one thing, but the engine is designed to run with a certain amount of recycled exhaust.

Use the good credit you still have to buy another truck. Then let the dead one go back to the bank. The bank's lien is primary so at least the hack mechanic will get screwed. Your credit will also, but at least you'll still be in business. And that $1350 a week will get you into a good truck.

And don't ever buy another deleted truck.

Anyway on topic. So guy has had it for 8 months......i would have moved it 7 months ago. Look at it this way. Your paying about $1400 a week. 1400X35ish weeks thats nearly 50K. You could have easily dropped an entirely new complete crate motor in for that. And thats not counting anything else you have paid for. Im guessing easily into the 10 to 20k range with labor and parts.

So your at at least 60k. You can get a #### nice used truck for 60k. Thats a pretty fat down payment on a new rig plus whatever you get on your 2019. Thats an ENTIRELY NEW drop in ready factory crate motor. Thats a drop in ready reman and entirely new emissions system installed.

If it was me id be getting that truck on a hook and moving it to a full on dealer or reputible shop 7 months ago. A month is generally enough time for a full engine strip to block ground up rebuild and then some. There is NO excuse for keeping your truck there and your being scammed like hell. Bet money at this point if you try to move it he is going to try and slap you with a 5 figure bill too. And yes i know its deleted. But for the 50k you spent on just a rental. You can easily have had it undeleted and installed a brand new one box and all the fiddly bits. Plus a full rebuild and STILL came out cheaper

 

Just send him the title and buy another truck.

I feel like there is more to this story than I am going to grasp fully from the internet. I am very hands on in all aspects of my business and anything else that I make money with. When you allow things to happen to you expect these type results. Decide what you need the outcome to be with this situation and make that happen one way or the other.

 

STOP ********* AROUND WITH THIS CRAP, GET A LAWYER, HAVE THEM GET THE TRUCK OUT OF THERE, SUE THE SHOP FOR FRAUD, AND SELL IT OR GET IT TO THE DEALER.

8 months is 7 months and two weeks too long, the shop should be compensating you for the rental and lost revenue.
