hi there today I was hauling a load of logs off highway and was using my engine brake down a steep hill in low range when the truck made a loud bang coming from the underneath of the truck. It did it twice it was a loose rocky road hauled the rest of the day with no problems normal diff and tranny temperatures any ideas what that noise came from?

Well you can be rest assured it didn’t come from the engine or trans. If a loud bang is heard or felt from either, that would mean catastrophic failure and you would be on the side of the road instantly.
Maybe you broke a spring. Check all your suspension parts

Ya I was hoping it was just a rock as I found no leaks or high temperatures anywhere
