I'm not sure what type of growth you're looking for other than financial with a trucking company. So if you go back OTR, then you'll be unhappy again because that's not what you really want to do. You seem mostly happy where you are now, why make a change? Unless there's going to be significantly better pay or benefits, I don't see a reason to make a change. Don't change for the change's sake.
Decisions , Stay here or go over the road.

When I first started driving commercially...the CDL job market back then was actually pretty amazing.

It's nothing like that, now...
In your case -- I'd wait....for that job market to come back....before I did/applied for A-N-Y-THING else.

Do what satisfies you. Personally, I'd rather have a pay cut than a local job. But, this isn't about me, it's about you.bryan21384 Thanks this.

I’m in the same spot as you , working for a mega carrier for the last 14 years only making 60-62k a year . I like where i work i’m
not forced to do anything i don’t want to do . I can call in sick or if the roads are extremely bad in the winter months can say i’m not coming in with no issues . the
problem is the pay i feel it’s very low for someone with 18 years of experience and feel like im leaving lots of money on the table .
what’s stopping me from moving is how bad the market is and not a lot of good companies hiring right now. if i leave and say get let go before 3 months or new company sucks now what . It’s not as easy to get a job now
Only advice i have is be very careful making a move and research the new potential employer as much as possible before jumping shipCrazytrucker77 and Numb Thank this. -
Making between 60 and 65,000 how much home time do you get in vacation time off? Do you take? Yes, some companies pay more and they pay for different things than other companies but at the end of the day with most trucking companies you gotta simply just stay out on the road if you wanna start getting up around six figures. There’s really no work around for that. I’m reaching the point where I’m considering being home more. 3 to 6 weeks straight driving every single day starts to wear you down. You start noticing things. And they’re not good things lol home time and time away is priceless in this industry. Without it? Even the most gritty hard-core driver will eventually be put on his knees out here.Crazytrucker77 and Numb Thank this.

I get two weeks vacation per year and yes I use it all. My schedule is one week Monday thru Thursday and the next week Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. So I have one 4 day weekend every other week and Thursday, Saturday and Sunday off the other weeks. Now you know why I enjoy the schedule I have. I decided to stay and just enjoy life like I have the last two years. I just got back from 5 days on the coast with my wife for our 14th anniversary. It is my first real week vacation I have had in years. Thank you everyone for your incite and advice. Stay safe out there.
