well after doing some research and not finding very much and taking the job here is my experience so far....orientation was one day at there west Chester oh faculity..payed for that day and payed mileage there and back, live near flint and .it was a 600 mile round trip in a full size truck. Then it was onto a three day ride along/drive with a mentor to learn the procedures of paper work and the elogs system works (people net) work. that went great i rode with an great driver out of the flint yard. and the third day i got my truck..a well used peterbilt..which later developed an egr problem..but they said ill be getting a different truck soon. the flint drivers are know as "referral drivers"as we pull gm freight in a line haul operation..but what really made my decision to come drive for dli was not one the driver i spoke too had nothing bad to say and they all have been there for x number of years...it pays quite well and the insurance and benefits are great.as i am younger driver (25) and i was looking for a long term company. but i am usually home everyday or every other day and when you have to stay out for a night or two they put you up in a hotel. the communication between the driver and anyone within the company is great..it is just a well rounded company all together...lol...if there is any questions or comments just comment on here or send a message and i will be happy to answer any questions..happy trails![]()

Glad you like it. I work out of the Bolingbrook , il yard and have been doing so for over a year. The company is actually in the midst of expanding to philly, Boston , and west Virginia. I've also heard about the possibility of acquiring a contract with toyota in the great lakes region so good times at dli.. Just hope the equipment gets better. Peterbuilts are nice, sterlings not so much.. Anyways I start at about 945pm everynight and get done about 530 am, once a week I'll either run a quick Michigan city or maybe do some shuttling. I do 6 gm stops, 5 Chrysler stops and drive about 250 miles a night. I also load my own truck . I make between $987-$1,011 a week so not bad for only about 40 hours a week. I like you are young (24) and love it. Got plenty of time with my gf, time to workout, time for friends.. Only negative is working into Saturday morning till my weekend starts but not starting work till Monday night makes up for that. Keep a positive attitude, where I work there are a lot of pissy people that work here and love to trash Dli.. Also nice thing is on occasion they will cut my route and put me on a different but even if the route pays less I still get my regular route pay, if the route pays more, I get more. I've ran a route that paid $30 less but received the $30 in supplemental pay.. Good company , owner is nice too. Just hope they junk the sterlings already and get more peters.
