Looking at a truck with a 2005 14L 30k on inframe. Egr "fixed" and 500hp. Anything to be worried about and what can I expect for fuel mileage? Will be hauling a dump trailer locally loaded to 88k. Currently running a Cat C13 that's nearing inframe time and not sure I want to put the money into this truck
Any difference between the 2005 and a 2009 14L that's been "fixed"and running 525hp? 680k miles on the '09.
2005 14L 30k on inframe, is there a difference between 05 & 09?

You can do a lot damage to a motor in 30k miles. You got to ask yourself why would someone spend all that money for an inframe then sell it 30k miles later. An 04 sleeper is not even worth 28k. I’d be checking that with a fine tooth comb and would offer half of that price

The 500 hp 14 L is a good engine and dependable. Hauling heavy you can expect 5-6 mpg if you have a lead foot like I do. Now that's with a 10 speed and 3.42 gears . The bonus is they are cheap to work on. I have no complaints with it.

As long as it was "fixed " by someone reputable, and the normal stuff, engine dyno, blow-by, eco dump checks out. I love my 14l and its at 1.2+ still going strong.

I got a Columbia 14l it only gets 5.7 at 65 mph
