so i have this 2016 columbia 360k miles for 2 months. its a fitzgerald glider. so it started drinking a gallon a day of oil. im putting in at a local chicago shop. turbo, overhaul step 1. cylinder head. bearing and rods, valve head seal. about 12-13k. detroit parts tho no chinese. with labor. i thought this truck would cost 8k for overhaul. am i overpaying? oh btw i bought it from freightliner

Sounds about right - go ahead and check bull gear while you’re there.

So it's a Fitzgerald built kit, but is it also one of their "in house rebuilds" on the Series 60.? Just curious if a genuine Detroit Reliabilt gave up @ 360k miles, or if just another "Fitz in house" horror story..

Sorry to hear this either way. No one wants to have to rebuild 2 months after acquiring a new to them tractor. Unless they knew ahead of time of course..
