I have a 2007 freightliner with a detroit 14ltr series 60 ddec v stock horsepower with a tune to turn off egr. Tune was done 6 years ago but problem has been going on about a year.
When sitting at an idle with the truck fully warmed up and I try for a quick throttle response it stumbles and misses and lots of white blue smoke. It runs perfectly going down the road pulling and shifting gears No miss or smoke at all and no smoke at idle unless demand quick throttle. We are pretty sure it's something throwing off the injection timing at a certain temperature.
It only seems to act up when approx -10c (15f) or warmer. If it's colder out it runs fine.
We have found that if I leave engine fan running when I stop then it works fine.
If I unplug intake air temp sensor and quickly plug back in it clears up for a bit. Also we found that if we unplug the water temp sensor and plug a new one in and leave it hanging there and it runs perfect.

    Things we have done.
    New injectors and injector harness
    New ecm
    New turbo
    New fuel pump
    No air in fuel
    Checked wire resistance to sensors
new Srs, trs, water temp, intake temp, ambient temp sensors.

I forgot we also changed boost pressure sensor. All readings seem good on laptop. Nothing seems out of range.
