I’m in WA and a train derailment caused traffic chaos. So drivers got a break.

1 of our trucks got inspected in Motley, MN at a rest area this morning around 8am. The DOT officer told my driver that he had inspected 15 trucks already that morning and all had ELD in them, but NONE of them were working? 0 for 15, my driver asked him what he told the other truck drivers, the DOT officer told him he told the other drivers to write on the bottom of their paper logs "eld not functioning" and they went on their way. Crazy 0-15.

3 times since I've been at Landstar.

    1) Washington = Dude spent like 10 seconds with it. Level 3 Passed
    2) Arizona = Dude spent like 10 seconds with it. Level 1 Passed
    3) Arizona = Dude spent like 15 minutes with it. Level 2 Passed.

    It's hard to F/U.

I have spent several nights in the bushes just minutes short of the truck stops though, cause I would not have made it.
You must keep an eye on it, and have a plan.

That's amazing if the officer didn't write them up as violations, but maybe they're going to be gentle on the enforcement front for a bit?

The unit I'm using also has a fairly significant issue, and I hope we can get it resolved this morning.
