In Southern California 5/1/2024 right before 2:00 pm? The epicenter was in Corona.
I would imagine in a Truck you most likely don't feel a small shaker ? This one was a 4.3 ( i heard someone say). I hope everyone is safe and unhurt.
Did anyone feel the earthquake ?

Thank You guys for the links. I like to know what is happening and both are very informative. I shouldn't be afraid of them, just be prepared. I am both.

We have a summer place about ten miles from Cape Mendocino and we get earthquakes almost every day. Most of the time we just ignore them. Anything over a five usually gets our attention.

depending on which way the quake is... in front or back (not so much from the side) you may SEE it as it rolls the blacktop when it passes you... I was in the 2001 quake in sea-tac Washington (6.8) on the freeway you could see the wave in the blacktop about 5"-6" coming at you... think if you drop a rock in a pond and you see the ripples... quakes do the samething just alot faster. If you not looking the right way you won't see itSirscrapntruckalot, Numb and The_vett Thank this.

I was in Ontario and didn't feel anything. I was at the Moapa truck stop when the 7+ earthquake Ridgecrest quake hit and definitely felt that one from 150 miles away.

I just remembered , living in SoCal late 80's and my son telling me how cool it was to see the sidewalk rolling as he went to school. Something I have never seen. ( I missed the 2001 you speak of in WA. because I was traveling at the time.) I cannot figure out how it rolls instead of crumbling sidewalks and streets. I now live in an area where nobody has a smooth driveway. In fact cement and brick fences break up. I constantly am fixing cracks in my home in SoCal.
