Did they mess up on my license?

    They’d be toast..even if they were found not at fault..

    OP, factually you are not qualified and prohibited from driving a truck with a standard transmission... that said... “think smart, not hard”

    Should you ever be involved in a fatal accident while driving a standard you’ll most likely be doing time in prison... if it was uncovered..

    If you don’t plan on ever driving standard and are sticking with automatics then it’s not a big deal to tell them or not..

    One thing I would do is order your DMV record and see if the restriction is listed there...

    I would do nothing. If you want to be a Boy Scout just don't drive a truck with manual transmission. You may go your whole career and never see a manual truck. If you need to later you can always get someone to show you how to shift. That's about all CDL school does. A few minutes of instruction, a couple of days of shifting badly and then you are up to speed.
