Did we get scammed ? How do we get that money ?

There has allays been tons of crooks in this business. Theae days during the down turn of the freight market its only amalgamated. Do you have connectioms with a legal assistant or lawyer?

 

In Line has multiple reports of double brokering and non payment. Try to file on their bond.

 

Not sure where you're located? These attorneys seem to deal with those types of issues. Not sure how much their retainer is though? Transportation, Trucking, and Logistics - Resnick & Louis

 

Safer, then insurance will have the bond. Should also have been on you contract with them

 

File on their bond. Look the company on Safer.

I'm a broker. Something like this happened to me today. Dispatched a load to a MC of what I thought was a local carrier. Got a call from my customer saying a carrier he had used in the past called inquiring about the load details and said it had ben dispatched by Sweet Logistics. Found out Sweet had never known about the load and the dispatcher did not even work there. He had a bogus email ending in ".US" to skirt the system. Customer told him that was not correct and the good carrier gave Sweet & Myself a call informing us of the situation as well. Called the number for the original MC listed on DAT and he had never heard of the dispatcher nor did he accept the load that I dispatched. Rate was identical to the rate I was offering. Load details had only been dispatched to the bogus scammer so no one else could have known the details he was giving. Sounds like they were going to move the load as scheduled and accept payment from us but were never going to pay the other party involved (the carrier they contracted). The reputable carrier and I ended up booking the load together and came out unscathed. It could have gone much differently. Fortunately there are good people in this world we work in.
