I have a Cobra 29 LX.
I WATCHED a YouTube video. On how
To crank it to maximum modulation.
Counterclockwise.
But for the final, I do not have a watt meter. So idk how it will sound.
Did you peak and tune your CB radio yourself?

I did it, I didn't watch any YouTube crap, I used the proper equipment and aligned it right.
Take it to someone who knows what they are doing which is rare nowadays.
Get it properly aligned, and tuned a little bit.Night Stalker10 and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
Might be safer to leave it along..Lotsa golden screw drivers out there to make your radio look good on a watt meter but sound like crap..
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Unmodified should outperform most textbook service manual tunes. I'd leave it alone.
RubyEagle Thanks this. -
Night Stalker10 Thanks this.

There is a variance in radios but in general a outta the box is better than many tech's tune..
Night Stalker10 Thanks this. -
What I meant was, if the stock out of the box radio's modulation is low, you can turn that up without hurting anything, right? As long as you're not excessive?

i gave up on spending any extra monies, for such stuff, and would only buy a really good noise cancelling mic.
take it to a shop, do not chance this on your own.
it could even be your antenna is in need of a tune. -
