What color is your coolant and is it low?

Coolant is pink and not overly low. Haven’t topped it off in months and it’s about .3 gal low.

Keep an eye on your coolant very closely. Red/pink coolant mixing with green/yellow fuel can make kind of an orange color and I know you’ve been playing with tuning so you might have compromised the head gasket.

Possibly. Doesn’t seem like the tune added any power though. Plus I ran 1300 most of the way.

Head over to your friendly neighbourhood CAT dealer and pick up an SOS bottle and send in a sample of the fuel. They can tell you if and what has contaminated the fuel.

    Coffey and anthonyar4 Thank this.

Whenever I pulled the water separator drain off it looked like water coming out and didn’t smell like diesel. Also, whenever I drain it, it will run good (20 psi and a miss)for 5 minutes then going back to missing at 10 psi.

    Coffey Thanks this.

I also put diesel 911 hoping it was just water in fuel but that stuffs clear.

You dont have to add power to blow a head gasket. A slight change in timing can do the same thing.
